College Support

How I can help!

Students with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD can struggle with the transition to college. Have they secured their accommodations? Are they feeling overwhelmed by the workload? How are they managing all of that free time?

I will meet virtually with the student once a week and also be available via text during certain hours in order to help them navigate this new experience.

Parent Connection

Included in my service is a weekly email to parents/guardians and a monthly virtual meeting for 30 minutes to provide updates on their child's progress.

What can be hard in that first year?

In my experience, students with complex learning profiles can struggle with just logging into college portals. How do they register for classes in a timely fashion? How can they secure accommodations like extended time, testing in a distraction free environment, a notetaker, assistive technology, a math/foreign language waiver, etc? How should they break down long term projects into smaller pieces? How can they connect socially on campus? And so much more. With my support, parents/guardians can pull back from serving as their child's frontal lobe--and your child can develop independence and confidence.
